Privacy Policy

Last updated 29 September 2026

This policy explains what personal information Auction Bio collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what you can ask of us. Auction Bio is run by Makana Global LLC, 30 N Gould St, STE R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA (“we”, “us”), which is responsible for your information. Questions go to hello@auctionbio.com.

1. What we collect

  • Your account. Your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, Google gives us your name, email address and profile picture, and a sign-in token. We never see your Google password.
  • Your workspace. Its name; its members and invitations (names, email addresses, roles); your watchlists and their keywords; favorites; the buy list (statuses, max bids, hammer prices, notes); and, if you connect Slack, which Slack workspace and channel alerts go to.
  • Payments. Stripe, our payment provider, collects your card and billing details (name, address, and tax ID if you add one). We never see your full card number. We keep your Stripe customer number and the state of your plan.
  • How you use Auction Bio. The searches you run (what you typed and how many results came back) and the auction links you click, with your browser type. If you are not signed in, we keep a random ID in your browser so we can count searches and clicks per device.
  • Emails we send. Which alert emails went to which address, and which lots they listed.
  • Our customer records. We keep a record of workspace members (name, email address, company) and of our conversations with customers (emails, calls, meeting notes), so we can support you and follow up.
  • Technical data. Our hosting provider records IP addresses and request details for security and troubleshooting.

2. Analytics, session recordings and ad measurement

  • Amplitude analytics. We use Amplitude to understand how Auction Bio is used. It records page views, clicks and sessions, your device and browser, and your approximate location from your IP address. Once you sign in, it also records your account number and email address. Amplitude keeps this data in its EU data center.
  • Session recordings. We record visits with Amplitude Session Replay to see how people use Auction Bio and to find bugs. A recording shows what appeared on screen and where you clicked and scrolled. Anything you type into a form field is hidden in your browser before the recording is sent; other text on the page can appear in it. Recordings are deleted after 30 days.
  • Google Ads. Our pages load Google’s tag, which sets cookies so Google can tell us whether a visit from one of our ads led to a sign-up. When you sign up, we tell Google Ads that a sign-up happened, with your account number so it is counted once. Google handles this under its own policies: how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

3. How we use it

  • to run Auction Bio: search, watchlists, alerts, workspaces and billing;
  • to send sign-in links, invitations and alerts;
  • to support you and follow up with customers;
  • to understand how Auction Bio is used and improve it;
  • to measure whether our ads work;
  • to keep Auction Bio secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Who we share it with

We share it only with the providers that run parts of Auction Bio for us:

  • Vercel, which hosts the website;
  • Supabase, our database, stored in Frankfurt, Germany;
  • Amazon Web Services, which sends our emails;
  • Stripe, for payments;
  • Amplitude, for analytics and session recordings;
  • Google, for signing in with Google, our own email, and Google Ads;
  • Slack, only if you connect it, to post your alerts.

The members of your workspace see its content. We also disclose information when the law requires it.

5. International transfers

We are a US company, and some of our providers are in the US. Your information may be processed in the US and in other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses or the EU–US and Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account and workspace information: while your account or workspace exists.
  • Searches and clicks: as long as we need them to understand how Auction Bio is used.
  • Session recordings: 30 days.
  • Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Customer records: while we have a business relationship with you.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner, as described below.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK, Switzerland or some US states), you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, to receive a copy of it, or to object to or limit how we use it, including for analytics and session recordings. Write to hello@auctionbio.com and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in Switzerland, that is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

8. Cookies and similar technologies

  • Sign-in cookie, to keep you signed in. Auction Bio does not work without it.
  • A random ID in your browser’s storage, to count searches and clicks when you are not signed in.
  • Amplitude cookies and storage, for analytics and session recordings.
  • Google Ads cookies, for ad measurement.

You can block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser settings; blocking all of them signs you out. You can control how Google personalises ads in your Google ad settings and through the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out. To have your analytics data and recordings deleted, write to us. We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.

9. Children

Auction Bio is for work. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page with its date, and for important changes we will email account holders.
